About MedGrasp
A free medical library for students and doctors, being written one topic at a time.
What MedGrasp is
MedGrasp is a website of medical topics for students at every stage of the course and for junior doctors. Each topic is meant to be complete: it starts from first principles, builds up through diagnosis and management, and ends with the sources it relies on. Tables, flowcharts and drawn figures are used wherever they make a point clearer.
What is here today
The site is at an early stage. Its structure is in place: every discipline and body system has a page, and the process for writing and checking topics is described. 757 topics are published. A topic appears on its discipline page and its body-system page when it has been written and checked, and not before.
Not built yet: accounts and study tools. This page will change when that changes.
Free to read
Every topic is free to read, with no account. Advertising is not switched on. When it is, it will sit between sections and will never cover or interrupt the text.
Where the words and pictures come from
Every sentence is newly written. The facts come from named sources, and each topic lists them. Figures are drawn for MedGrasp or used under a licence that allows it, and each one is credited (see the figure credits).
How topics are checked
Sources, a separate check, and a date on every page: the whole process, and what each label on a topic means, is on How we verify.
Not medical advice
MedGrasp is educational. It is not a substitute for clinical judgement or local guidelines. Read the medical disclaimer.
